We picked this destination and resort because of the golf course on property. It was ranked #1 Caribbean Island and Caribbean Golf Resort of the year in 2023. Signature preferred and Delta Vacations 5-star property it did not disappoint.
We booked a Beachfront Junior Suite on Rendezvous beach and were upgraded to a Beachfront One Bedroom Suite upon arrival. Suite #236 was 2,225 SF on the 3rd level with gorgeous views of St. Maarten. The beach was a highlight - 2 miles of white sand (think Turks & Caicos) and we walked it 1-2 times each day.
Golf at the Aurora International Golf Club was great fun with a course rating of 74.4 and a slope of 125. We played 3 times and would have played more if John would have agreed to. They give resort guests a rate of $245 – a 30% discount.
There were several dining venues on property and we tried them all. Reservations were easy to make using Open Table on their website. D Richard’s and Tokyo Bay were our two favorite. We also tried Blanchards https://blanchardsrestaurant.com/ about 10 minutes away – it was quite good.
The resort is quite spread out (1.1 miles from Rendezvous lobby to Merrywing lobby) and courtesy shuttles were available day & night. There were a TON of resort activities everyday – something for everyone.
What we liked:
- Perfect suite – certainly their top end – preferred the Rendezvous beach area
- Huge fitness center open 24/7 and only 50 yards from our suite
- Friendly and caring staff at all levels
- Great golf
- Fun experience taking the Ferry from St. Maarten to Anguilla – 20 minute ride
- Variety of dining options
- Fast and free WiFi – John was able to trouble shoot the email problem on Sunday – thank goodness
- Our suite came with a private butler, Jahmar – he offered to make dining reservations – nice guy
- Breakfast was included daily a Chef’s Table – a $110 value – included Mimosas
Challenges
- Anguilla is expensive – there is a 13% CST tax and 18% service fee on everything – 31% adds up.
We would definately go back!
