As one of Central Travel’s Delta Vacations top producers I was awarded a wonderful trip to Iceland and it was amazing!

We stayed at The Hilton Nordic located 15 minutes from the city center. They offer free parking, free Wi-Fi, spa and room service. They have a restaurant and a bar on site. Their buffet breakfast had several choices and was good.

We looked at Canopy by Hilton Reykjavik City Center. It is in a great location in the city, the heart of shopping and the nightlife of Laugavegur Street and the city center. The hotel lobby is very warm and welcoming. We also visited the Reykjavik EDITION. This is currently the only five star hotel in Reykjavik and sits right on the harbor. This was our favorite hotel in Reykjavik due to the location, customer service level, and stylish rooms and common areas. The rooms are modern and spacious with floor to ceiling windows.  They have a lobby bar, restaurant, rooftop bar and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, and spa.  You know it’s an Edition Hotel from the first moment you walk in due to the signature scent.

Our sightseeing included the Golden Circle Classic Tour. There are 3 areas that we experienced the Geyser Geothermal Park, Gullfoss Waterfalls and lava canyon in pingvellir. We stopped at the Pingvellir National Park and it is an old lava canyon and the continents are being pulled apart and you can see the rift in the fields. The Geyser Hot springs was our next spot and that is an amazing sight. It is the largest Geyser hot springs and Iceland’s most Iconic natural wonders. This stop didn’t disappoint, there were smaller hot springs leading to the large original geyser. You are able to totally walk around the Geyser to get a view from all sides of the Geyser.  We then headed on to the Gullfoss Waterfall which is reminded us of Niagara Falls but a smaller scale. Awesome views! We recommend a private tour so you can move at their pace and enjoy the sights along the way.

We participated in the South Coast Classic Tour which was a full day. If you are short on time and a smaller budget, this is a great way to see Iceland’s highlights on the South Coast. The tour drives by Eyjafjallajokull Volcano which is the volcano that shut down European flights in 2010.  It was fun to see it from a distance.  The South Coast tour visits Solheimajokull Glacier, Reynisfjara Balck Sand Beach, the town of Vik, Skogafoss Waterfall and Seljalandsfoss Waterfall.  All of the nature stops were breathtaking.  I think the black sand beach and Seljalandsfoss were my two favorite.  Both were very peaceful and gorgeous.  If the weather had been warmer and I had rain gear on, I would have done the full hike behind Seljalandsfoss.

We also did the Classic Whale Watching tour which is on a good size vessel that has indoor and outdoor viewing areas, plenty of seating inside, overalls you can wear to stay warm, and a cafeteria with drinks and snacks. We saw whales within 10 minutes of being on the water.  It lasted about 2.5 hours.  You will also see birds and dolphins. Excellent experience!

Hús máls og menningar- or The Bookstore. This is a bookstore, café, bar and they have live music-The Bookstore Band, and we happened upon open mic comedy night on Thursday.  What a hoot!  And the band is awesome!

Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur-the best place to get an Icelandic hotdog made from beef and lamb.  This hot dog stand has been around since 1937 and there is usually a line, but worth the wait.  And you can buy the hot dogs, mustard, and remoulade at the airport to take home.

Iceland is a ‘must see’ destination for many people and Delta makes it easy with non-stop flights from Detroit. I would be happy to assist you with your next adventure!

We traveled to Italy in May of 2023 as a family. Our daughter was touring/singing with Ohio Northern so this trip was planned around her performances. We based ourselves in Florence and Rome with day trips from each area.

Florence

Rivoli Boutique Hotel
I absolutely loved the Rivoli. I have used it for years for clients and was very happy to have a chance to stay there. I loved the historic aspect and how it was authentic to the area. We had a Triple Prestige Room which overlooked the courtyard. The room was very large for three people and had a very large bathroom. I was really impressed with the space. The service was wonderful and the staff at the hotel bar made it a fun experience. I want to go back to Florence and stay here again.

Tours all with Walks:
Best of Florence Walking Tour with David and the Duomo – This was a great walking tour…perfect for first time visitors to Italy. It was great to bypass the hours long lines at both areas and the guides were super informative. The tour ended at the Ponte Vecchio.

Tuscany Day Trip from Florence with Siena and San Gimignano – This is a full day tour but a great way to see the heart of the Tuscan country side in one day. Siena was interesting, the wine lunch was fantastic and we all loved San Gimignano. The tour was about 8hrs long and the transportation was very comfortable.

Rome

Romanico Palace Hotel
I was looking forward to staying here and was really disappointed. We had a Classic Room as it is the only room they have to accommodate triples. Hindsight, I should have booked two rooms. The room was tiny as was the bathroom. The shower was not large enough to turn around in. The bathroom also had no ventilation and made with room unbearable with heat and humidity after someone showered. The breakfast options were terrible. The front desk staff was not warm and welcoming. It was a huge downgrade and disappointment after the Rivoli. I used to sell this hotel all the time for Rome…its a last resort now.

Tours:

Due to Chloe’s singing schedule, I had to book last minute through Viator for both the Vatican and Colosseum. Our Vatican tour was at 10:30a and the museum was beyond crowded. I would encourage all of your clients to book the early entry and book through Walks. I was not impressed with our Colosseum tour either. It was supposed to be two hours and ended up being 45 minutes. The tour guide was very hard to understand and then collected our vox devices and left us 45 minutes in. Once again, plan accordingly and book through Walks.

Boat Hopping on the Amalfi Coast – This was a very long day but a great way to get a glimpse of both Amalfi Town and Positano. I would recommend this if your time is limited and don’t have time to stay in the Amalfi Coast. The tour included rail tickets from Rome to Salerno as well as ferry tickets. We toured a lemon grove in Amalfi Town. We then took the ferry and had lunch at Chez Black in Positano. I loved this area and want to return.

Pompeii Tour with Panoramic Winery lunch on Vesuvius – Although we loved the tour, I would not recommend it due to the length of time. The motorcoach ride was 2 ½ each way with a brief stop. The tour of Pompeii was excellent….we all loved it. The winery was also gorgeous and it was a highlight for Chloe to see Vesuvius.

As a top producer with Delta Vacations I have recently returned from Grand Cayman – what a great destination!

The Westin Grand Cayman was our host hotel located directly on Seven Mile Beach, just a 5-minute drive of the Strand Shopping Center and Galleria Plaza. Truly a luxury resort with all the amenities one could want. The rooms were quite nice. The fitness center offered daily activities like Beach Yoga, water fitness and more. The Hibiscus Spa offered a variety of spa treatments. Ferdinand’s Restaurant  was excellent and great service. The Lounge bar, Catboat Bar offered a nice open space to enjoy evening cocktails and evening music.

We looked at the Marriott Resort Grand Cayman.  When a hurricane came through they lost their beach. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation that started in July of 2023 and is not schedule to be completed until March of 2024. The hotel right now offers 299 rooms and suites however after the renovation they will be at 301 rooms as they will be adding two family suites. After the renovation, each room will have their own routers in the rooms with fiber option WiFi; this should make the connectivity much better. I would suggest waiting until renovations are done before staying here.

We also did a site visit at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman. The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman offers luxurious rooms and bath amenities in a resort that spans 144 acres of natural landscapes on renowned Seven Mile Beach. An unmatched collection of resort amenities and experiences await, including four signature restaurants and the Caribbean's only AAA Five Diamond dining experience, Blue by Eric Ripert. Other highlights include: The Ritz Carlton Spa; a Greg Norman-designed golf course; 3 clay and 2 grass tennis courts that are lit for night play; eco-adventures and family activities with Jean-Michel Cousteau's Ambassadors of the Environment; plus Starfish Cay, an interactive water attraction for families.  The Cayman Cookout https://www.caymancookout.com/ is a famous food event on the island that the Ritz hosts. This is their 15^th Anniversary of the event and it is held in January. Very popular.

The Kimpton Seafire is the only 5-Star hotel in the Kimpton Brand and it shows.  The hotel is very stylish, with a modern yet retro flair.  It is located directly on Seven Mile and has a very wide stretch of beach (we learned the owner brought in additional sand).  The grounds are beautiful with lots of trees, flowering shrubs and lots of grass areas, which was different for the other properties we saw.

If the budget allows, this is the perfect resort for families.  There are many rooms categories that can be combined (connecting can be confirmed prior to arrival) as well as many suites.  We all loved the Two Bedroom Family Suite Oceanview that has bunk beds as well as a sofa sleeper underneath.  It is perfect for large or multigenerational families.  The rooms are chic and very clean.  I loved the black and white motif with a pop of pink.  The resort is very eco-friendly and is trying to remove single use plastic items.  All rooms with have a water pitcher and bottle refill stations are found throughout the property.  Most rooms have some sort of a small kitchen as well. The Kimpton has a wonderful complimentary waterpark for children with cabanas that are available for rent.  Camp Seafire is an additional cost and we were told it is quite popular.

Activities:

Cayman Turtle Centre-Tourist Attraction that breeds and researches The Green Sea Turtle.  You can view and swim with the turtles.  We took a guided tour and then we were left to tour the rest of the facilities on our own.  There is also a bird sanctuary, Smiley the crocodile, shark reef, and butterfly house along with a fresh water pool and water slide. This would be a great place for cruisers to spend a half day or day on the Island.

This is a great local bar at The Sunset House which is a hotel for divers by divers.  We sat at the semi-outdoor bar and tasted a Caybrew (Cayman Beer) and had some bites.  Great local vibe if you want to stay away from the more touristy bars and restaurants.

Ms. Piper’s Kitchen + Garden-22 Piper Way, KY1-1201, Cayman Islands
This is a MUST stop!  Located at Hampton Inn and set in the backyard within the heart of 7MB, Ms. Piper’s cottage is a collection of keepsakes of her travels, inspiring our dishes, cocktails, décor, music and thoughtful details. Her kitchen is a testament of a journey greatly lived. An imprint of the cultural and spiritual life she has pursued and enjoyed. A celebration of graceful aging; that is abundant and eternal. I have just returned from the Croatia and Montenegro traveling with Leonidas Travel. I loved both countries and felt very safe my entire stay. Croatia is very modern and almost all Croatians speak very good (if not fluent) English. The same for the areas we visited in Montenegro although Montenegro definitely had an Eastern European Bloc feel to it. Both have their own currency but Euro was widely accepted.

Host Hotels:

Dubrovnik, Croatia
Hotel Excelsior – This is a Signature property that is a 5 minute walk from the gates of Old Town Dubrovnik. The hotel was built in the 60’s but has a very modern look to it. I stayed here for a pre night and the two nights during the tour. The property is built into a hillside. There is no sandy beach, but there is water access from the hotel and there is an area for sun bathing. There is pebble beach next to the hotel.
The rooms were spacious and very clean. If you have clients going during off season, please advise that the hotel deactivates their AC in the beginning of October. The fan in the room will only kick on when the AC is running. The rooms were stuffy and most of us complained as it was in the 70’s outside. You could leave your sliding glass door open, but mosquitos were abundant!

Herceg Novi, Montengro
One and Only Portonovi – This is also a Signature property and is located in the new resort community of Portonovi which is about a 10 minute drive from Herceg Novi. It is a true luxury property…a beautiful sandy beach, 21 pools on property and an amazing spa. The rooms were HUGE as well as bathrooms which complete with a fancy Japanese toilet. The resort opened in 2021 and it is still pristine. I loved it.

D’Resort
Sibenik, Croatia
The D’Resort is also a Signature Property. It was built on the sight of an old prison and open recently. It’s very unique and is less than 100 rooms. The rooms were spacious and clean. Also, every bathroom on property was different. This would be a spectacular hotel in the summer with pools right on the marina. It is located across the bay from Sibenik but there are complimentary hotel water and car shuttles.

Additional Properties:

The Pucic Palace – Old Town Dubrovnik
Small, boutique hotel in the heart of Old Town. The rooms were beautiful but quite dark with heavy furnishings. They have wonderful roof top restaurant. Perfect for clients that like the old world authentic feel.
Heritage Hotel Perast – Perast, Montenegro
Small boutique property in the charming town of Perast. The hotel is a Unesco World Heritage site and is located right on the water. Its lovely and I would high recommend.

Hotel Bellevue Dubrovnik
The property is also a boutique luxury property in Dubrovnik, about a 10 minute drive from Old Town. The property has its own sandy beach and offers one of the best bars in Dubrovnik. Once again, very clean and I would highly recommend.

Excursions

We went to quite a few wineries….all were lovely. I love wine and it was almost too many. There was only one that allowed us to order wine to be shipped home. Most Croatian wines can be purchased through https://www.croatianpremiumwine.com/. The wine was almost all delicious. Grappa is huge there, even more so than Italy. I hated all of the grappa.

We went on a private speed boat to the Lady of the Rocks Church and through Kotor Bay to Kotor from Perast. It was a fun experience. Kotor is on some Med itineraries…both PCL and Viking had ships in port. Our time in Kotor was very limited but I enjoyed walking around the old town.

We took a “buggy ride” in four seater Can Am ATVs up the side of a mountain in Dubrovnik. It was a little scary. But the view was amazing from the top. We could not take the cable car down as it was too windy that day. We ended the day with a foodie tour in Old Town. It was fun and the food was delicious.

In Stone, Croatia we had an oyster experience which was modified due to the weather. I am high allergic so I stayed away from the group, but we were shown how to harvest and shuck.

On the final day we hiked through Krka National park which is gorgeous. It was raining which made the hike slippery. We took a river boat out of the park which was a highlight. We visited the Old Town of Sibenik which was amazing and not crowded at all.

I loved Croatia and Montenegro so much more than Italy - the crowds are so much less as well as the prices!

Sonesta Maho Beach St. MaartenThis all-inclusive, beachfront resort is located in the lively, shopping and nightlife district of Maho Village on the Dutch side of St. Maarten. Find that perfect spot in the sun or enjoy a variety of daily activities, nightly entertainment, including several restaurants, a nightclub and large casino across the street. Other amenities you can enjoy include a spa, large oasis pool, swim-up pool bar, a water playground and complimentary kids club.

While Delta Vacations rates the Maho a 4 star, I would rate it a 3½. The most important thing to note is that it does not sit directly on the beach or water. While it is connected to the Ocean Point Suites, the Maho sits behind a time share property. The Maho and Ocean Point are sister properties. Guests at Ocean Point have full access to the Maho, but Maho does not reciprocate.

I have had clients stay at the Maho in the past and did not care for it, so I wanted to see it. If you are interested in a good value, it is an excellent option. The rooms are small, but were recently renovated and very clean. The standard categories do not offer a stocked minifridge but Premium on up do. Partial Oceanview are available 3rd – 5th floors and Oceanviews 6th floor on up.

There is one pool on property and offers both a small water park area and swim up bar. The pool also featured entertainment at the pool whereas the Ocean Point does not. The pool was well maintained and there were plenty of chairs when we were there. It may be a tight squeeze in a normal busy season.

A buffet and two specialty restaurants are shared between the Maho and Sonesta. We dined at all three and the food was hit or miss. The buffet was great for both breakfast and lunch, not so great at dinner. We also dined at the Italian and Hot Stone option, once again, some liked it, and some did not.

The Maho offers a tiny casino on site, but a much larger one is located directly across the street. The Maho also offers children’s programming and a teen club. 

AmaWaterways, Christmas Markets along the Rhine
I sailed aboard AmaWaterways AMAStella December 15 – 22, 2019. It was the final “Christmas Markets” sailing for the 2019 season. Our cruise began in Amsterdam and ended in Basel, Switzerland.

The AMAStella was a beautiful ship and seemed to be the only vessel we passed that was fully decorated for the holidays. We had an AA stateroom that had two twin beds, a French Balcony and a Walk out Balcony. There was plenty of space for two. The bathroom was much larger than the one I had with Tauck. While on board I was able to see a triple (same category with a pullout chair) and a Category E (window). The Category E was quite a bit small and the bathroom was tiny.

Food aboard the AMAStella was fantastic. Breakfast and Lunch in the dining room were buffet and a la carte. A light breakfast and lunch option were served in the lounge every day as well. Dinner was a la carte with several options. We did have dinner in the Chef’s Table which was quite good. Beer and wine were included at both lunch and dinner. AMA also includes a “Sip and Sail” for an hour prior to dinner where cocktails are complimentary.

Ports of call and excursions:
Amsterdam
1.) We walked to the Anne Frank House and toured. I pre booked the tickets online and included an introduction. It was well worth the additional 5.00€.
2.) AMA included a Canal Cruise. It was an excellent was to see the city on Day 2.

Cologne, Germany
We chose the Cologne City Tour and Cathedral Tour. Due to mobility issues, we joined the “Gentle Walkers” groups when offered. While we may have missed a few sites, the guides were excellent and very accommodating to slower walkers. Cologne is a beautiful city and is easy to navigate. There are at least seven Christmas Markets throughout the city. We explored two. The largest one is near the Cathedral and is a maze once inside. There are many artists, food vendors and Gluhwein standards. Gluhwein is a traditional mulled wine and is a must to try. We felt very safe walking back to the boat in the evening after we were finished in the markets.

Rudesheim, Germany
Rudesheim is much smaller than Cologne. We chose the wine tasting tour in the afternoon and the coffee experience in the evening. Both were delicious. The Christmas Market was spread throughout the small town and quite easy to navigate. There is a trolley that will transport passengers up the hill to the town. It is also quite walkable.

Ludwigshafen, Germany
Both Heidelberg and Speyer were offered for excursions. We chose Heidelberg and went to Heidelberg Castle and the Christmas Markets. The castle was very interesting and included the tram ride down. I loved the University vibe of the town. There were several markets and once again, we visited two.

Strasbourg, France
Unfortunately, our day in Strasbourg was quite rainy. The Cathedral was gorgeous and I loved the town. We had a great time walking around the city and decided to stay in town for lunch in a local bistro. It was fantastic.

Geganbach, Germany
Geganbach was the same day as Strasbourg. In hindsight, we should have skipped it. It was raining quite hard and there was no “gentle walkers” group. The main reason to visit is to see the World’s Largest Advent Calendar. It’s beautiful, but not worth the rain!

Riquewihr, France
Riquewihr was my favorite town. It is a picturesque 17th century town and one of the few that remains. The town inspired the village in the animated Beauty and the Beast. The market was small but the town had wonderful authentic shops.

Notes on Christmas Markets:
The main market in Cologne was the most crowded and overwhelming. Lots of locals along with tourists.
Cash is widely accepted. Some vendors will take mastercard/visa but not all.
Watch what you are purchasing, most items from local area, but some were not.
The security in the French markets was high. There are check points for bags and French Military/Police were patrolling. I did not see any in German markets.
As with any European city, pick pockets are common in the markets. 

My experience in Turks & Caicos was so fun with Delta Vacations! We visited Wymara Resort and Villas,The Sands at Grace Bay, The Shore Club and The Palms.

Dining was amazing at every resort. Wymara’s Stelle and Zest restaurants were both excellent. Stelle is very upscale while Zest is located closer to the beach is more laid back. Pink is a very cute bar located right on the beach - great cocktails and fun bartender with live music Wednesday and Saturday nights.

Hemingway’s at the Sands at Grace Bay was quite good. The food was great and it offered selection for those of us with allergies. It has a really fun atmosphere and sits in front of the beach. Hemingway’s also has food and drink service for the beach. The French fries are fantastic!

We had the spa lunch at the Palms. It was not our favorite, but it is popular. For people who chose to dine at the spa, there is a small chilled soup, salad, choice of chicken, seared tuna or shrimp and a healthy dessert. At The Shore Club we dined at Sui Ren for both breakfast (complimentary) and dinner. All were wonderful.

We had lunch at Da Conch Shack on Saturday. Da Conch Shack is very popular with both tourists and locals. The restaurant sits right on the beach and has some of the best rum punch in the Turks. While it focuses on Conch dishes, they have a wide variety of options. The Jerk Chicken Tacos were fantastic! I would tell clients to expect to spend $100.00 for two for a meal and drinks. The drive and prices are worth it alone for the amazing view!!

We also participated in the hour Snorkel Tour through Caicos Dreams. We were picked up/dropped right at the beach at the Wymara. The tour was four hours and the snorkeling was great. The boat also has a slide and diving boat. The tour took us to Shell Island and Iguana Island. The crew was a ton of fun!

The Fish Fry is held every Thursday night. It is a five minute walk from the Wymara and is very popular with tourist and locals. There are many food vendors and areas to shop. The vendors offer beautiful products, much nicer than the typical trinkets. You must visit Wellington Michael…he makes beautiful jewelry with Grace Bay Sand.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience in Paris and visited several hotels.

One of the properties I visited was MGallery Molitor.  Located outside the city center and a 25 minute walk from the closest metro stop it is not top of mind but if you are going to the French Open or a Rugby match, it would be a good choice as it is directly across from the stadium. The Molitor has a very young, urban vibe.  There is a Rolls Royce in the lobby that had been tagged by a famous graffiti artist and that sets the tone for the rest of the property.

The Molitor shares the building with a Fitness Club and spa.  There are two pools, an outdoor which is heated and open all year and an indoor pool.  There is a Spa and also a villa section.  The Molitor has a beautiful rooftop bar/restaurant that overlooks the pool in the summer.  It might be worth the travel across town to have a cocktail.

General thoughts on Paris:
Our tour by Walks (which is Signature Travel Network preferred supplier) of Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle (stain glass is a must see) and the Concierge was excellent.  Violet, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable, personable and funny.  We all learned so much on the tour and would recommend it to anyone.  Walking tours are great way to see the sights and plan ahead!  Max on this tour is 15 and have headsets to hear the guide.

The metro is easy to use for major tourist sights, but difficult to use for smaller areas.  Uber was relatively inexpensive and much easier to get around.  A private transfer to Charles de Gaulle is the ONLY way to go.  The traffic was crazy and our driver was great.  Allow every bit of 3 hours with security tight and it does take time to get through it all.

Stop and enjoy a pastry and coffee.  Taste Paris and take in sights that are like no other!

As one of Central Travel’s top producers for Delta Vacations, I was part of an incentive award trip this January to the Riviera Maya.  We did site inspections at Ocean Riviera Paradise, Hotel Xcaret, Unico 20° 87°, Zoetry Paraiso De La Bonita, Generations Riviera Maya, by Karisma and our host resort was the beautiful Grand Velas Riviera Maya.  All resorts were 4.5 – 5 Star properties and we saw all room categories in each resort.  There is certainly something for everyone in the Riviera Maya! 

One of my favorite resorts was the Ocean Riviera Paradise. This is an excellent property for anyone.  It is a large property with 900 rooms.  There are golf cart shuttles that run throughout the property.  The lobby was very large and smelled great.  It is scented every three minutes by hidden machines.  It was a nice way to enter the property. There are many extras on the property including a bowling alley and an ice cream shop (included in the All-Inclusive plan).


The rooms are the same throughout the property. We were shown a Daisy Jr. Suite which was quite spacious.  The room can accommodate a family of five but must use the existing bedding.  We saw a room with a king bed and a double pull out sofa sleeper.  The rooms on the ground floor allow easy access to the children’s playground and Water Park.  The balconies were very large and had not only chairs but either a hammock or a swinging chair (depending on floor).

The El Beso section is across from the Daisy section and is adults only.  The El Beso section rooms are the same, but they do offer swim out rooms.  There was music playing at the adult only pool that could not be heard in other sections.  There were also games such as corn hole and ping pong.  Adults staying in the Daisy section are welcome to use the facilities on the El Beso side.

The Privilege Section is closest to the beach and caters to both adults and families.  Each section has its own pool and snack bar. The beach was beautiful and perfect for long walks. I'd be happy to assist you with your next vacation to the beautiful Riviera Maya.

My Tauck French Waterways River Cruise began with two nights in Paris.  We experienced the French flair for living from Paris bistros and culinary Lyon to Beaujolais tastings and Provençal pleasures on a 10-day trip featuring a 7-night Rhône cruise on board the ms Swiss Emerald.

This was my first visit to France as well as my first river cruise.  I was very impressed with Tauck.  From the moment we met our transfer at Charles De Gaulle (a Mercedes sedan), throughout the entire trip, the staff was wonderful.  We had three tour directors with us throughout the trip.  There was also a cruise director onboard the Swiss Emerald.  Not only was the staff very knowledgeable about France, the local guides were wonderful with in depth knowledge.  The staff went out of their way to find a solution to any problem and make the trip an enjoyable experience for all guests.  If river cruising is on your bucket list, I’d be happy to assist you!

Sarah & ChesterI had the opportunity to travel to Los Cabos with a Delta Vacations Diamond Elite Fam in June of 2014.  I had never traveled to Los Cabos and fell in love with the destination.  The trip itself was extremely busy with 17 properties in four days!

Los Cabos is very diverse and offers attractions for everyone.  Due to its location, where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet, the water is very rough and many beaches are not swimmable.  The Seat of Cortez, however, offers very diverse marine life and is excellent for deep sea fishing.  There also areas that offering snorkeling and scuba.  It is also well known for its many golf courses, high-end shopping, and adventure activities.

While many of the beaches are not swimmable, they are amazing for beach walkers. The Sea of Cortez is one of the best areas in the world for sport fishing and diverse marine life.  I would love to help pick the perfect one for you!

Arenal Volcano and Monteverde Region, Costa Rica 
After flying into Liberia (LIR) or San José (SJO) airports, you begin your journey to the Arenal Volcano and the Monteverde cloud forest regions. The areas of the Arenal Volcano and Monteverde are special ecological wonders, the perfect spots for the ultimate Costa Rica vacation and are best reached with the use of a rental car. 

You can combine your visit to the Arenal Volcano/Monteverde area with a stay in either the cosmopolitan city of San José or the beach region of Guanacaste—or you can combine all 3 areas for a great Costa Rican adventure.  I was lucky enough to travel to Costa Rica for four nights, staying at the Hilton Papagayo as well as the Westin Conchal.  What an amazing destination!  I loved driving through the countryside and seeing Howler Monkeys and Toucans in the trees!  While I enjoyed ziplining through the rainforest, I much preferred soaking in hot springs while gazing at the Arenal Volcano.  Costa Rica has it all...everything from wild adventures, to relaxing on a beautiful beach.  I can't wait to go back!

Although my favorite place to travel is Ireland, I recently returned from fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada (my 5th visit).  An ever-changing city, Las Vegas is no longer the home of the $4.99 buffet.  The city is full of amazing restaurants (including restaurants by Charlie Palmer, Emeril Lagasse, and Wolfgang Puck), outstanding entertainment (“O” by Cirque du Soleil, Mamma Mia, and Celine Dion) and even more amazing hotels.

I was fortunate enough to spend my three-night stay at the Four Seasons; a private hotel located between floors 35 and 39 of the Mandalay Bay.  If you are interested in a more relaxing atmosphere, try the Ritz Carlton Lake Las Vegas located about 35 minutes north of the strip.  Among many other things, the Lake Las Vegas area offers golf, fishing, Italian boutique style shopping, and a world-class spa.  My site inspections included The Mirage, Bellagio, Wynn and Trump, my favorite!

I sailed on Celebrity's Infinity round trip from Vancouver visiting Ketchikan, Juneau, Icy Strait Point (my favorite). Celebrity is my favorite cruise line and Alaska is simply breathtaking.  This itinerary was fabulous and an experience I will treasure for a lifetime!
